| Do Woody is my all-time favorite rockabilly singer/songwriter. I've been playing his songs on my radio show for over 30 years now and still get a treat when someone calls in raving after hearing "Morse Code" or another of his classics for the first time. |

Great to find this site.
As some of you know this classic rockabilly artist is still played at rockin' gigs all over the world, and long may this continue. I've had a copy of "barking" since 1976, albeit a re-issue.
By the way, a copy of "Not I" sold on ebay the other day for $88!!
Perhaps someone should drag him away to go on tour.
Regards
PS can some tell me how to download? |

Clean, fun music, well written, well played, and song with manyl vigor. It's no wonder Mr. Woody is still alive and kicking in the charts, concert halls, clubs, and with guitar players, and better that he too is still alive and well. This is what can redeem the reputation of rock and roll: Don Woody music. Great rock-a-billy from the heart and heartland. It's no wonder he's from Texas.
I think a case can be made that if Elvis were surrounded by Don Woodys instead of the Tom Parker and his subordinates, he might still be alive today.
Rock and roll needs to remember Don Woody. This is part of the way it can regain its civility and true identity and be real American music again! |

Hey! It's very cool to see a Don Woody website!
I've had a mint copy of your Arco 45 "Not I" for years. I picked it up at a tag sale and have loved spinning it for 50s wax hounds ever since. It's funny, you cut a little 'ol 45 back in 1958 and it's bringing happinesss to people in 2003! Way to go Don! |
